Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Abilene, TX is seeking an experienced Equipment Operator to operate power construction equipment used to excavate, move and grade material on a variety of sites.

The role requires intermediate experience, ability to read and follow instructions, use hand and power tools safely, and perform routine maintenance.

You will work outdoors, possibly overtime, nights and weekends; training and safety are emphasized as part of our team-driven culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with some field experience.
• Demonstrated working knowledge and abilities for the position.
• Ability to read, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions; communicate effectively with management.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and heavy equipment for road/ROW maintenance and repair.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for culverts and pipes.
• Check and maintain fluid levels and lubrication on equipment.
• Instruct/train others in safe operation of equipment and techniques.
• Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify defects.
