Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 to work under a Foreman or Superintendent, with potential to oversee a small crew of Helpers or Apprentices, and to install, alter, and repair electrical systems. You will read blueprints, lay out work, measure, cut, bend conduit, install devices and conductors, and troubleshoot lighting and power circuits while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience performing electrical construction in commercial and/or industrial environments.
• Demonstrate Amteck Way in daily work activities, behavior and decision making.
• Able to work project schedules including weekends and overtime.
• Demonstrate a team-player mentality and safety-conscious approach.

Responsibilities

• Work independently to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using measuring devices and hand tools.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panel boards, branch circuit and feeder conductors.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of circuiting and read project specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
• Lay out small areas of work from electrical drawings and project documents, including underground layout.
• Determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizing accurately.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of lighting and general power circuits.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
