Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 to work under a Foreman or Superintendent. The role involves installing, altering and repairing electrical systems, and may involve leading a small crew of Helpers or Apprentices.

You will have opportunities to learn in other divisions such as low voltage, controls, and fire alarm. The position requires strong conduit work, reading blueprints, and a safety-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of electrical construction experience in commercial or industrial settings.
• Ability to read and interpret project specs, blueprints, and schematics.
• Willingness to mentor Helpers and Apprentices on site.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend, and install electrical conduit using hand tools and benders.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panels, and conductors.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of circuiting and safety practices.
• Read project specs, blueprints and schematics to lay out work.
• Lead small crews and train helpers on job site.
• Troubleshoot basic lighting and power circuits as needed.
• Collaborate with Foreman to meet project schedules.
