Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 who will work under the guidance of a Foreman or Superintendent and may oversee a small crew. Responsibilities include installation, alteration and repair of electrical systems, with opportunities to learn other divisions such as low voltage, controls, and fire alarm.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial environments.
• Owns and uses company-required tools.
• Able to work weekends and overtime.
• Willing to participate in field training (OJT, classroom, or virtual).
• Team player with safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical benders.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panel boards, brand circuit and feeder conductors.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of circuiting.
• Read and understand project specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
• Lay out small areas of work from electrical drawings and project documents, including underground layout.
• Determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizing.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of lighting and general power circuits.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
