Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 to work under a Foreman or Superintendent, potentially overseeing a small crew. The role involves electrical installation, alteration, and repair, with opportunities to learn in other Amteck divisions such as low voltage, controls, and fire alarm.

The candidate will measure, cut, and install conduit, read blueprints, and perform basic troubleshooting while mentoring Helpers and Apprentices on site. Safety and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of electrical construction experience in commercial and/or industrial environments.
• Ability to use tools safely per company policy.
• Willingness to work weekends and overtime.
• Ability to read and understand basic construction documents and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panels, and feeders.
• Read project specs, blueprints, and schematics.
• Layout small work areas from electrical drawings and documents, including underground layout.
• Determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizes.
• Troubleshoot lighting and general power circuits.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on site.
