Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 to work under a Foreman or Superintendent, with opportunity to oversee a small crew of Helpers, Apprentices, or other J1’s. The role includes installation, alteration, and repair of electrical systems, and learning in divisions such as low voltage, controls, and fire alarm.

Responsibilities include measuring and installing conduit, wiring devices and panels, reading schematics, and laying out jobs from drawings, including underground layouts.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial settings.
• Ability to read project specifications, blueprints and schematics.
• Demonstrated safety-conscious approach and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and lay out electrical devices, fixtures, panels, and conductors.
• Measure, cut, bend, and install conduit with appropriate tools.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on site.
• Read and interpret drawings and project documents including underground layouts.
