Job summary

Montgomery College, Rockville Campus, seeks a full-time Electrician in the Facilities Department. Schedule is Monday–Friday 7:30 am–4:00 pm. Bargaining non-exempt, Grade 25. The role supports campus electrical systems, fire alarms, and emergency power with a focus on safety and reliability.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, Maryland Journeyman License, four years of relevant experience, and eligibility to work in the U.S. with no visa sponsorship needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with vocational/apprentice training in electrical work.
• Four years of progressively responsible commercial electrical experience.
• Electrician Journeyman License – Maryland Board of Electricians; valid driver's license.
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Installs, modifies, repairs, loads and tests electrical systems and devices.
• Troubleshoots and maintains emergency power systems and fire alarms.
• Plans wiring routes and locations for panels, distribution and controls.
• Performs preventive maintenance on electrical systems and fire alarm components.
• Responds to service calls and repairs electrical equipment and circuits.
• Ensures compliance with National Electrical Code and safety standards.
