Job summary

Goodwill Greater New York and Northern New Jersey (GWNYNJ) is seeking a Job Coach to support consumers through intensive on-the-job training and ongoing coaching in Harlem & Bronx, NY.

You will train clients on transportation, conduct case management, and partner with DVRS and other agencies to place individuals in suitable roles in Northern NJ and NY. A degree in human services or equivalent experience is required, with MS Office proficiency and ASL considerations.

Qualifications

• AA Degree in human services or a high school diploma with 3-5 years’ related experience.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• For coaches working with deaf/HOH consumers, fluency in American Sign Language and SCPI certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform intensive on-the-job training with newly placed consumers.
• Train consumers on public transportation options to reach work.
• Provide ongoing monthly coaching for LTFA consumers.
• Maintain weekly case documentation and monthly LTFA notes.
• Track service hours and submit activity reports for additional vouchers.
• Conduct case management and connect trainees with community resources.
• Train new co-workers and supervisors on working with consumers.
• Assist in job searches and pre-placement activities.
• Coordinate with DVRS and referral agencies for placements and referrals.
