Job summary

Capac Community Schools is seeking a part-time Junior High Wrestling Assistant Coach for the 2026-2027 season. The role involves teaching fundamental wrestling skills, assisting with off-season training, and maintaining open communication with parents and athletes.

The ideal candidate will have junior high coaching experience, strong communication abilities, and be able to work collaboratively with staff and the Capac community.

Qualifications

• Previous Junior High Coaching experience is preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Supervisory and sports management experience.
• Clear criminal history check, physical, and drug test required; first aid training.
• Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate integrity as the Jr. High Asst Coach representing the Capac community.
• Maintain open communication with parents, student-athletes, and the community, and provide information.
• Ability to teach fundamental wrestling skills and team concepts.
• Assist in off-season, summer, and pre-season training; knowledge of strength and conditioning practices.
• Interact with student-athletes of different ages and abilities positively, promoting character and integrity.
• Motivate, guide, and mentor student-athletes.
• Promote school spirit and a sense of team.
• Work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
• Perform the physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Candidate should demonstrate a high degree of integrity as the Jr. High Asst Coach representing the program to the entire Capac community.
• Maintain an open line of communication with parents, student-athletes, and the community, and provide appropriate information.
• Ability to teach fundamental skills and team concepts of wrestling.
• Assist in the execution of off-season, summer, and pre-season training and preparation programs. Knowledge of strength and conditioning practices.
• Ability to interact with student-athletes of different ages and abilities in a positive and professional manner, promoting character and integrity.
• Motivate, guide, and mentor student-athletes.
• Carries out work in accordance with and in compliance with all District procedures and Board policies.
• Promote school spirit and a sense of team.
• Work collaboratively with all members of the staff, students, and parents.
• Must be able to perform the physical demands of this position, which include sitting, standing, talking, seeing, and hearing. Occasionally, it will be expected to repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motions many times and push or lift up to 50 lbs., such as boxes of books.
• Perform other functions and duties as assigned by the supervisor.
