Job summary

RTX's Pratt & Whitney Columbus Engine Center is hiring a Mechanic for a 2nd weekend shift (Fri–Sun, 7:00 pm–7:30 am). You will overhaul, repair, and assemble jet engines and modules, using hand tools and fixtures to ensure peak performance, safety, and reliability for commercial and military aircraft.

A strong mechanical background and focus on quality are required. The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to instructions, and cross-training across cells to support flexible, high-quality engine

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1+ years’ experience in a mechanic role or appropriate technical training.
• Familiarity with safety and quality procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work on turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance per work instructions and data.
• Use hand tools and fixtures to assemble/disassemble and test a jet engine.
• Ensure all assembly/disassembly steps meet quality and safety standards.
• Cross-train across assembly cells and support functions to maintain throughput.
