Job summary

Aquent partners with a prominent financial institution to deliver secure, scalable software solutions. This temporary role focuses on building and maintaining critical client-facing systems using Java/Springboot, RESTful APIs, and modern CI/CD practices.

You will collaborate across teams, mentor juniors, and drive code quality through reviews and tests, while remaining aligned with internal standards and security requirements.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Computer Science or a related technical field with 4+ years of software development experience (Java-focused).
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and frontend/back-end integration (4+ years).
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and test automation (4+ years).
• Experience writing Splunk queries and developing monitoring dashboards (3+ years).
• Experience with TDD and integration testing using Cucumber (4+ years); Mongo and SQL databases (2+ years).
• Experience developing Avro Kafka schemas for event streaming (2+ years).
• Deep Agile experience and tools (4+ years).
• Strong problem-solving, ownership, leadership, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement new features aligning with best practices and project goals.
• Write clean, maintainable code using the Springboot framework.
• Optimize systems for performance, scalability, resiliency, and security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate into specs.
• Analyze issues and document findings thoroughly.
• Perform maintenance and fix defects.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
• Conduct code reviews, unit tests, and integration tests to ensure quality.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and drive continuous improvement.
