Job summary

Aquent partners with a prominent financial institution to deliver secure, scalable software solutions for critical client-facing systems. The role focuses on Java development with Springboot, RESTful APIs, and microservices, emphasizing quality, monitoring with Splunk, and CI/CD practices.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior developers, and contribute to architectural decisions while staying current with emerging technologies to improve security and performance.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years in software development
• Extensive knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices, and frontend/backend integration (4+ years)
• Proficiency with CI/CD, version control (Git), and test automation (4+ years)
• Experience writing Splunk queries and developing monitoring dashboards (3+ years)
• Experience with TDD and integration tests in Cucumber (4+ years)
• Experience with Mongo and SQL databases (2+ years)
• Experience developing Avro Kafka schemas for event streaming (2+ years)
• Agile methodologies and tools (4+ years)
• Strong problem-solving, ownership, motivation, and leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Implement new features aligned with best practices and project goals
• Write clean, maintainable code using the Springboot framework
• Optimize systems for performance, scalability, resiliency, and security
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical specs
• Analyze and document software solution issues
• Perform maintenance and fix defects
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance
• Conduct code reviews, unit tests, and integration tests
