Job summary

Aquent Talent is seeking a Senior Software Development and Engineering Specialist to lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable software in a financial services context. You will spearhead architecture efforts, evaluate new technologies, and mentor peers while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

You will drive advanced AI‑assisted development, design automated tests, and create engineering documentation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Spring, cloud development and Web Services (REST, SOAP) in high-volume environments.
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI coding assistants across SDLC workflows with coding, testing, and automation.
• Experience with AI tools like GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
• 2+ years in ETL/data pipelines and messaging frameworks.
• 1+ year with CI/CD tools such as Bamboo or similar, and cloud platforms like AWS/GCP.
• 1+ year working with distributed databases such as MongoDB or PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities

• Lead research and development of functional and technical specifications, production and test environments.
• Develop plans for proof-of-concept initiatives and validate new technologies.
• Create and maintain tools for gathering detailed user requirements.
• Engage in strategic planning with stakeholders to steer technical directions.
• Identify gaps in processes across environments to improve efficiency.
• Architect and develop innovative solutions aligned with the organization’s vision.
