Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Software Engineer to join a team delivering high-assurance software for mission-critical systems in the United States. The role emphasizes Java-based development, Spring and JSP/JEE stacks, and working within a team to meet demanding requirements.

Responsibilities include designing, implementing, testing, and documenting software components, and coordinating with users and system engineers to optimize performance and reliability. A TS/SCI with poly clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of relevant java programming experience including at least two years of java 1.7+ and development of presentation tiers.
• One or more years of experience using Spring and Javascript.
• Two or more years of JSP and servlet programming experience.
• Two or more years of experience with JEE and enterprise web application design and development.
• One or more years of experience designing and writing REST-ful applications.
• Ability to create and deploy applications in an Apache Tomcat web server.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems (e.g., analytics, large data sets, real-time systems, business information systems).
• Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document results.
• Resolve software problem reports and analyze requirements to synthesize designs.
• Provide inputs on hardware/software trade-offs and reuse of COTS/GOTS where appropriate.
• Write or review software and system documentation.
• Lead team at the level appropriate to the project.
