Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts in Mason City, IA is seeking a Mechanical Trimmer (Jarraff Operator) to operate heavy equipment and support electric utility vegetation management projects. This full-time role requires travel for storm restoration work and a strong focus on safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities include equipment preparation, operation under foreperson guidance, maintenance, and occasional leadership of crew members.

Qualifications

• Prior heavy equipment operating experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred
• High School diploma or education equivalent preferred
• Must be able to travel out of town for storm restoration work when needed

Responsibilities

• Follow safe practices and rules at all times and help enforce them
• Assist in preparing equipment and materials for each day's work
• Operate equipment as directed by Foreperson
• Help maintain and repair equipment and tools used in operations
• Assist other crew members and take a leadership role when required
• Cleans up and disposes of debris and sets up barriers, signs, and markers to protect employees and the public
• Track and report mileage to Foreperson
• Perform duties for storm work as needed
• Pass background check and drug screen as required
