Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Mechanical Trimmer (Jarraff Operator) to operate heavy equipment removing branches and tree material from electrical lines. Experience operating a Jarraff is required.

The role requires outdoor work in varying weather, physical stamina, and the ability to travel for storm restoration work. A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred and safety certifications are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Prior heavy equipment operating experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred.
• High School diploma or education equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Must have a valid Driver's License; CDL and DOT Medical Card required for trucks over 26,000 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and help enforce safe practices.
• Assist in preparing equipment and materials for each day’s work.
• Operate equipment as directed by Foreperson.
• Help maintain and repair equipment and tools used in operations.
• Assist crew members and take a leadership role when required.
• Clean up and dispose of debris.
• Set up barriers, warning signs, and markers to protect employees and the public.
• Track and report mileage to Foreperson.
• Perform duties for storm work as needed.
