Job summary

Ahtna, Inc. Hemet is seeking a janitor/cleaner supervised by the Project Manager with a strong emphasis on cleanliness and attention to detail. The role serves the Hemet location and is an on-call position.

The wage is $20.00 per hour plus $5.09 per hour for health and welfare benefits. Candidates should have at least a high school diploma and one year of related housekeeping experience, with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must have 1 year of experience of progressively responsible housekeeping/sanitation or other work that applies knowledge and skills to perform the position.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Ability to pass background checks & drug test.
• Knowledge of janitorial methods, practices, materials, tools, occupational hazards, and safety precautions of the janitorial work.

Responsibilities

• The employee will follow all rules and regulations relative to entering and leaving the building.
• Must be physically able to perform all duties and tasks in the statement of work and shall be free of communicable diseases.
• Must be able to utilize cleaning products, chemicals, vacuums, mops, wringers, dust tools, and floor machines.
• Must be able to use equipment such as ladders
• Will report fires, hazardous conditions, and items in need of repair, such as dead lights, leaking faucets, toilet stoppage, etc.
• Basic cleaning tasks to include but are not limited to the following: Empty & Clean Wastebaskets, Clean, Disinfect & Polish Water Fountain, Replenish Supplies, Spot Cleaning, Vacuum all Carpets, Sweep & Mop all Hard Floors, Wipe Clean All Window Blinds and Sills, Interior Windows, Shampoo Carpets, High Dust & Clean, Follow established procedure methods for handling and mixing chemicals.

Job description

Works under the supervision of the Project Manager or designee with 95% standards of cleanliness within assigned tasks. Candidates should be qualified janitors/cleaners with a high level of cleanliness and attention to detail.

The pay rate for this position is $20.00/hour + $5.09/hour H&W.

This position will service the Hemet location. The ideal candidate will live in that area.

Please note, this is an on‑call position.
