Job summary

ASL in Torrance/Carson is seeking an on-call Janitor (part-time) to service the Torrance & Carson locations. The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent and 1 year of housekeeping/sanitation experience.

The pay rate is $20.00/hour + $5.09/hour H&W. The ideal candidate will live in the area, have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, and be able to pass background checks and a drug test.

Responsibilities

• Use cleaning products and equipment safely and correctly.

Works under the supervision of the Project Manager or designee with 95% standards of cleanliness within assigned tasks. Candidates shouldbequalified janitors/cleaners with a high level of cleanliness and attention to detail.

The pay rate for this position is $20.00/hour + $5.09/hour H&W.

This position will service the Torrance & Carson locations. The ideal candidate will live in that area.

Please note, this is an on-call position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• The employee will follow all rules and regulations relative to entering and leaving the building.


• Must be physically able to perform all duties and tasks in the statement of work and shall be free of communicable diseases.


• Must be able to utilize cleaning products, chemicals, vacuums, mops, wringers, dust tools, and floor machines.


• Must be able to use equipment such as ladders


• Will report fires, hazardous conditions, and items in need of repair, such as dead lights, leaking faucets, toilet stoppage, etc.


• Basic cleaning tasks to include but are not limited to the following:


• Empty & Clean Wastebaskets


• Clean, Disinfect & Polish Water Fountain


• Replenish Supplies


• Spot Cleaning


• Vacuum all Carpets


• Sweep & Mop all Hard Floors


• Wipe Clean All Window Blinds and Sills


• Interior Windows


• Shampoo Carpets


• High Dust & Clean


• Follow established procedure methods for handling and mixing chemicals

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent


• Must have 1 year of experience of progressively responsible housekeeping/sanitation or other work that applies knowledge and skills to perform the position


• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation


• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language


• Ability to pass background checks & drug test

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of janitorial methods, practices, materials, tools, occupational hazards, and safety precautions of the janitorial work.
