Job summary

ASL in Upland, CA is seeking an on-call janitorial position to maintain cleanliness at the Upland location. The role reports to the Project Manager and requires basic cleaning tasks with attention to detail.

Ideal candidates live in the Upland area, have at least 1 year of housekeeping experience, a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass background and drug checks. Pay is $20.00/hour plus $5.09/hour H&W.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Follow rules for entering and leaving the building.
• Perform basic cleaning tasks: emptying wastebaskets, disinfecting water fountains, replenishing supplies.
• Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors, wipe window blinds and interior windows.
• Report hazards and required repairs (e.g., leaks, lights).
• Use cleaning products, vacuums, mops, and floor machines as instructed.

Works under the supervision of the Project Manager or designee with 95% standards of cleanliness within assigned tasks. Candidates shouldbequalified janitors/cleaners with a high level of cleanliness and attention to detail.

The pay rate for this position is $20.00/hour + $5.09/hour H&W.

This position will service the Upland location. The ideal candidate will live in that area.

Please note, this is an on-call position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• The employee will follow all rules and regulations relative to entering and leaving the building.
• Must be physically able to perform all duties and tasks in the statement of work and shall be free of communicable diseases.
• Must be able to utilize cleaning products, chemicals, vacuums, mops, wringers, dust tools, and floor machines.
• Must be able to use equipment such as ladders
• Will report fires, hazardous conditions, and items in need of repair, such as dead lights, leaking faucets, toilet stoppage, etc.
• Basic cleaning tasks to include but are not limited to the following:
• Empty & Clean Wastebaskets
• Clean, Disinfect & Polish Water Fountain
• Replenish Supplies
• Spot Cleaning
• Vacuum all Carpets
• Sweep & Mop all Hard Floors
• Wipe Clean All Window Blinds and Sills
• Interior Windows
• Shampoo Carpets
• High Dust & Clean
• Follow established procedure methods for handling and mixing chemicals

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must have 1 year of experience of progressively responsible housekeeping/sanitation or other work that applies knowledge and skills to perform the position
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to pass background checks & drug test

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of janitorial methods, practices, materials, tools, occupational hazards, and safety precautions of the janitorial work.
