Job Summary

Salary: $16.00 per hour. The position requires maintaining a clean and safe environment across all building or worksite locations serviced by FlagShip. The ideal candidate will keep buildings neat and clean at all times.

Essential Functions

• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, wax and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing machines.
• Use ladders to dust and wash walls, clean ceilings, polish light fixtures, and wipe down windows and ledges.
• Wash and replace blinds, move boxes, furniture and equipment to clean areas.
• Remove stains from rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• Perform seasonal tasks such as sweeping, raking leaves, cutting grass, removing snow, and other incidental duties.
• Clean carpeted areas: empty waste baskets, replace liners, dust/clean office furniture, vacuum carpets, spot‑clean soiled areas, and clean glass on lobby doors.
• Clean non‑carpeted areas: sweep, mop tiles, dust desks, clean vents, and polish wood furniture.
• Maintain the janitorial closet neat, and keep equipment properly maintained.

Knowledge and Skills

• Basic knowledge of janitorial duties and responsibilities.
• Good listening and verbal communication skills. Ability to speak/understand English.
• Good physical appearance; uniform required at some worksites.
• Attendance at periodic training and safety meetings.
• Anticipate client needs and maintain punctuality.

Education and Work Experience

High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Six months of experience in commercial facilities and building janitorial work desired.

Work Environment

Small-to-large office environment. Regular exposure to dust, odors, oil, fumes, cleaning products and moderate noise. Safety glasses required while performing certain tasks. Fast‑paced work environment.

Physical Demands

Requires standing, walking, sitting for extended periods. Occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds using proper technique. Ability to use hands, reach, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, and handle equipment. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
