Job summary

Clatsop County is recruiting a Control Room Technician to support corrections deputies in maintaining the security and welfare of adults in custody at the Clatsop County Jail. This civilian position works under the Jail Lieutenant and is represented by the Clatsop County Law Enforcement Association.

The role requires monitoring CCTV and access-control systems, recording movements, processing warrants and maintaining jail records, with duties performed in a secured control room.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience or training in office procedures and computer use.
• Must be at least 18 years old and a United States citizen.
• Must obtain LEDS certification within three months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate the jail's automated security and access-control systems.
• Observe, record and control movement within secure jail areas.
• Control public access and monitor alarms, intercoms and door controls.
• Maintain jail records and process warrants, summonses and related legal documents.
• Operate Law Enforcement Data Systems equipment while maintaining confidentiality.
