Job summary

Tillamook County in Oregon seeks a Corrections Technician to support the Jail’s central control and custody operations. You will monitor the central control system, manage records, and assist deputies while ensuring safety and security for staff and inmates.

The role requires attention to detail, calm judgment, and flexibility for variable shifts. Prior corrections or law enforcement experience is preferred, with opportunities for professional growth within the Sheriff’s Office.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of custody and control of prisoners; records maintenance
• Skills in using computerized systems and radios; ability to document accurately
• Ability to work variable shifts and handle high-pressure situations

Responsibilities

• Operate the central control system to monitor movement and alarms
• Use LEDS/NCIC and records systems for documentation
• Maintain logs and ensure confidentiality of records and visits
• Support professional Deputies and other agencies as needed
• Perform routine jail operations and paperwork as assigned
• Respond to disturbances and coordinate back-up when required
