Job summary

The Tillamook County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Corrections Technician to support professional deputies in maintaining security and welfare of Adults in Custody at the Tillamook County Justice Facility.

This role handles indirect supervision via central control, conducts records work, and supports court and agency communications. Requires ability to work variable shifts and meet confidential documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge: custody and control of prisoners; records maintenance; interview techniques.
• Skills: data entry, records maintenance, and use of two-way radios.
• Abilities: independent decision-making; calm under pressure; effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Operate the central control system to monitor movement and alarms.
• Operate LEDS and NCIC and the in-house records system.
• Testify credibly as a witness in court or admin proceedings.
• Monitor staff activity and request back-up when needed.
• Maintain logs, update records, and protect confidentiality.
• Perform additional record keeping and duties as assigned.
