Job summary

Medwiz Pharmacy in New Jersey is seeking an IV Technician to join our team. You will prepare sterile intravenous medications for long-term care facilities and patients, ensuring accuracy and safety through strict aseptic techniques and proper documentation.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, a pharmacy technician training background, and at least two years of sterile compounding experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a pharmacy technician training program preferred.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification is a plus.
• Minimum of two years of experience in sterile compounding, preferably in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in aseptic techniques and sterile compounding procedures.
• Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards governing sterile compounding.

Responsibilities

• Sterile Compounding: Prepare sterile intravenous medications according to established protocols and procedures.
• Quality Assurance: Perform routine inspections and quality control checks to ensure sterility and proper labeling.
• Inventory Monitoring: Track inventory levels and assist in ordering and stocking of products; maintain records.
• Compliance: Adhere to USP 797 standards and other regulations; stay updated on changes in guidelines.
• Collaboration: Work with pharmacists and technicians to ensure safe delivery of IV meds.
• Patient Care: Deliver medications promptly to long-term care facilities and patients with professionalism.
