Job summary

Polaris Pharmacy Services is seeking an IV Pharmacy Technician to work under a Registered Pharmacist, performing sterile compounding and prescription filling in a fast-paced environment.

You will support long-term and post-acute care facilities, entering data, and ensuring compliance with USP 797 and state regulations. This role requires 1+ year IV tech experience and a state license/certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications required by state regulations and state of practice.
• Minimum of one year working as an IV pharmacy technician required (long-term care pharmacy preferred).
• Knowledge of brand name/generic medications.
• Experience working with medications, IVs, and filling prescriptions required.
• Order entry and insurance billing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain Sterile Compounding room and QA per USP 797 guidelines.
• Fill prescriptions and prepare Sterile Compounding under supervision.
• Stage, prep, and fill orders for long-term care facilities.
• Compound Sterile Compounding orders in a Class 100 clean room as directed.
• Data entry and basic record-keeping for the IV department.
• Assist pharmacist with calling care facilities and patient communication.
• Maintain pumps and related IV equipment; ensure calibration and safety.
