Polaris Pharmacy Services in Tampa, FL is seeking an IV Pharmacy Technician to work under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, performing sterile compounding, data entry, and regulatory compliance.

The role includes cleaning the sterile room, preparing prescriptions, assisting with long-term care facilities, following USP 797 guidelines, and maintaining equipment; requires a high school diploma, pharmacy tech license, and at least one year as an IV tech.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications required by state regulations.
• Minimum of one year working as an IV pharmacy technician; long-term care pharmacy preferred.
• Knowledge of brand name/generic medications; experience with medications, IVs, and filling prescriptions required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain Sterile Compounding room and QA per USP 797 guidelines.
• Fill prescriptions and prepare Sterile Compounding according to Polaris standards, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Stage, Prep, and fill orders for residents at long-term care facilities and high-risk pregnant women.
• Compound Sterile Compounding orders in a Class 100 clean room as directed by Pharmacists, IV Supervisor, and/or Director of Pharmacy.
• Data entry and assisting pharmacist with calling care facilities.
• Maintain pumps and stock areas in the IV department, and ensure a clean/safe work environment.
