Job summary

NCSL International is seeking a Technical Transportation Planner to support regional TSMO and ITS planning across the AMPA. You will coordinate MPO travel demand modeling, freight planning, and asset management, while overseeing contracts and ensuring compliance with regulations.

The role requires a strong GIS background, programming experience, and the ability to communicate complex data to diverse stakeholders. This is a collaborative, on-site position in Albuquerque, NM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of four (4) years of relevant professional experience in planning, engineering, transportation, or a closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate regional TSMO and ITS planning and implementation with local, state, and federal agencies and transportation partners.
• Support short- and long-range transportation systems planning, including functional classification, freight planning, asset management, and long-range roadway systems.
• Lead travel forecasting and applications of the regional travel demand model.
• Lead enhancements to the travel model including overseeing travel surveys and model calibration.
• Prepare technical analyses, reports, maps, presentations, and other materials for committees, partner agencies, stakeholders, and the public.
