Job summary
AtkinsRéalis in Raleigh, NC seeks an ITS/Traffic Engineer to deliver technology-driven transportation solutions, including traffic signals, fiber optic communications, cameras, dynamic message signs, and adaptive signal control. You will work on TSM&O projects that use data and infrastructure to improve safety and mobility.
The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering and an EIT/EI certification, with 2–5 years of relevant experience in ITS or transportation technology.
Qualifications
- Requires Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- EIT/Engineer-in-Training certification required or expected.
- 2–5 years of relevant engineering experience; ITS or traffic operations experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Deliver ITS/traffic engineering solutions including traffic signals, signage, and detection systems.
- Develop plans, layouts, drawings, and technical deliverables for transportation technology projects.
- Perform traffic studies, corridor analyses, crash analyses, and safety reviews.
- Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and labor-hour estimates for project tasks.
- Support project delivery through plan reviews, field observations, and design reviews.
