Job summary

Spokane Public Schools is seeking a paraeducator to support students with diverse needs across multiple settings. You will assist with instruction, routines, transitions and inclusive opportunities, under teacher supervision.

The position emphasizes collaboration, data collection and flexible, person-centered supports with training in de‑escalation and safety. A high school diploma or equivalent is required with college credits or a rigorous assessment.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow teacher instructions and implement student supports.
• Experience supporting students with disabilities preferred.
• Willingness to complete district training on de-escalation and safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide flexible, building-based support across students and classrooms.
• Support implementation of IEP/504/BIP and MTSS interventions.
• Assist with instruction access, routines, transitions, and inclusive opportunities.
• Monitor and document student data to inform interventions.
• Collaborate with staff to adjust supports based on student needs.
