Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs is seeking a Behavior Interventionist - Itinerant for up to 140 days in the 2026-2027 school year. The role offers $250 per day, pending certification, under a contract/hourly arrangement with the Wyoming County Board of Education.

The candidate will establish relationships with teachers, administrators, and families, identify issues, participate in required meetings, and ensure student social-emotional learning.

Qualifications

• Valid West Virginia teaching certificate or licensure is required.
• If fully certified candidates do not apply, those eligible for a permit may be considered.
• Training in CPI, ECPBIS, SWPBIS, Capturing Kids Hearts, APL or Classroom Management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establishes relationships and communicates with teachers, administrators and family members.
• Identifies and resolves potential problems with involved parties and attends required meetings discussing behavior.
• Works efficiently both independently and in a team setting.
• Reports suspected child abuse or neglect to the Child Abuse Hotline.
• Collaborates with school and leadership to promote social and emotional learning.
• Maintains positive relations with staff, families and students and participates in professional development.
