Job summary

Tompkins Bank & Trust in Ithaca, NY is seeking a detail-oriented Item Processing Support Specialist. You will verify and balance daily cash letters, submit the daily Host Integration and Federal Cash Letter files, and ensure data integrity across reports.

You will handle image system research requests, communicate with the coordinator, open cases with the system provider, and prepare customer statement media, while supporting other team members as needed. This role offers solid benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
• Experience with Bank Regulatory reporting and banking systems preferred.
• Operational or Image Processing experience preferred.
• Analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Efficient with technology, able to type with speed and accuracy.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and browser-based systems.
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure and learn multiple software programs.

Responsibilities

• Balance daily cash letters and ensure deadlines and totals are accurate.
• Process check adjustments and monitor Federal Reserve Reconcilement.
• Contact internal/external vendors for system/hardware issue resolution.
• Perform account adjustments and reconciliations.
• Prepare necessary account documentation and deposits.
• Adhere to Federal Reserve operating regulations.
• Open cases with system providers for Item Processing issues.
• Create customer statement media for postal delivery.
• Maintain communication with the coordinator and escalate issues as needed.
• Back up other team members and perform other duties as assigned.
