The Department of Economic Security (DES) is seeking an IT Vendor Management Analyst II to provide efficient management services, ensuring transparency and cost-effectiveness in vendor product and service delivery. The role involves strategic vendor selection, contract negotiation, cost optimization, compliance oversight, financial analysis, software license tracking, budget forecasting, and vendor governance. The position supports audit readiness, maintains software and cloud resource inventories, and collaborates with stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency. Candidates should possess strong financial analysis skills and an interest in IT.

This role may offer remote work options within Arizona based on departmental needs and performance. DES promotes a flexible, autonomous, and trust-based work environment, including remote work within Arizona unless otherwise authorized.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage vendor relationships, coordinate communications, organize meetings, and conduct reporting and analysis.
• Assist in contract negotiations, track contract details, and ensure stakeholder awareness.
• Support software asset management by tracking lifecycle, usage, and compliance.
• Monitor vendor performance, organize evaluations, and develop improvement plans.
• Identify and develop process improvement initiatives, utilizing metrics and problem-solving techniques.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Understanding of IT products and services, procurement laws, customer service principles, and project management in IT.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office products.
• Excellent communication, report writing, problem-solving, and stakeholder facilitation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, or related field plus two years of IT service experience, or 3+ years of relevant experience without a degree.
