What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Design, build, document, and maintain custom RNAseq and other OMICs data-analysis pipelines and front-end tools for a large user base
- Detect and resolve software bugs and performance issues while providing on-demand technical support
- Educate and train colleagues in the usage of bioinformatics tools
- Containerize on-premises and cloud systems, executing extensive test strategies to ensure software quality
- Conduct statistical analysis and interpret results using bioinformatics tools
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, biophysics, biotechnology, or related field
- BS with 2-4 years of experience, or MS with typically 0-2 years of experience
- Advanced knowledge in programming languages commonly used in bioinformatics, such as R and Python
- Extensive experience in front-end/tool development, such as R-Shiny or React-like frameworks
- Experience working with cloud (AWS), high-performance computing environments (UNIX), and version control systems like Git
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Expertise in OMICS data analysis, especially RNAseq, including experiment design, data processing, and result interpretation
- Demonstrated experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a related field
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
