The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for the role of Informatics Analyst II within our Core division. It is a remote role with up to 20% travel.

The informatics analyst team provides first point of contact support to our largest Diagnostics customers. These customers operate Abbott Diagnostics analyzers and many use Abbott Automation systems, troubleshooting, and resolving IT issues related to the transport testing, reflex and retesting of samples, and the management of results produced by Abbott analyzers.

What You’ll Work On:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex IT issues, including but not limited to:
• Analyzer connectivity to Lab Information Systems, automation systems, and middleware, middleware issues with results transmission and auto-verification rules, and automation software (DMS) issues related to sample handling, routing, and management.
• Support our AlinIQ family of products. The team resolves over 98% of customer calls remotely.
• Manage and resolve urgent issues that can take down multiple analyzers or entire automation systems.
• Manage and resolve complex IT issues via remote connectivity, including connectivity of analyzers to LIS, Middleware, and automation systems, and issues related to movement and testing of samples, reflex, and retesting, as well as results management, auto-verification, and release.
• Communicate carefully with customers to understand complex problems, investigate a variety of IT systems remotely, and find quick resolutions to minimize downtime.
• Provide after-hours and weekend on-call support for Informatics issues, requiring extensive product knowledge.
• Use the ticket documentation system to capture all relevant data supporting product design and customer usability per standards.
• Collaborate and share knowledge with peers, including teammates, sales, field service, global support, and quality teams via phone, email, or instant messaging.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree (± 16 years) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Medical or Hospital Informatics, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 5 years of experience, preferably with a mix of Medical Technology (Laboratory Scientist), IT or Informatics Analyst, and installation/support of middleware, auto-verification rules, and Lab Information Systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree (± 18 years) in a relevant field, or equivalent education and work experience.
• Experience with SQL Database queries is helpful.

The base pay for this position ranges from $60,000 to $120,000. In specific locations, the pay range may vary.
