Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or closely related field or higher.
  • Associate's degree in a related field plus 2 years of full-time paid experience in systems analysis, support, or training.
  • High school diploma plus 4 years of relevant experience in systems analysis, support, training, or information systems.
  • Equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the above options.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, coordinates, and delivers agency-wide technology training programs for computer systems and digital workplace tools.
  • Advises departments on technology planning, hardware deployment, software adoption, cloud migration, and system integration.
  • Develops training modules for core digital systems and productivity suites.
  • Creates advanced training for data tools and specialized software.
  • Configures and okay new applications to meet training objectives and workflows.
  • Maintains digital resources, documentation, runbooks, and knowledge bases used in technology operations.
  • Evaluates software and cloud-based tools for leadership based on needs and trends.
  • Establishes user groups and communities of practice to share best practices.

Job description

  • Designs, coordinates, and facilitates agency-wide technology training programs covering computer systems, end-user software, technology coordinators' cloud applications, and digital workplace tools.
  • Advises departments and component school districts on technology planning and implementation, including hardware deployment, software adoption, cloud migration, and systems integration.
  • Develops and delivers training modules that familiarize employees with core digital systems, productivity suites, and technology best practices.
  • Develops and administers advanced and role-specific technology training, including data tools, instructional technology platforms, specialized software, and other digital resources.
  • Assists with configuring and customizing new applications and existing systems to support training objectives, optimize workflows, and address departmental technology needs.
  • Maintains digital resources and documentation, including file structures, knowledge bases, standard operating procedures, operational runbooks used in technology operations, and related technology resources.
  • Evaluates, tests, and recommends software solutions, digital learning tools, cloud-based technologies, and enterprise applications to leadership based on organizational needs and emerging technology trends.
  • Establishes and supports user groups and communities of practice that foster collaboration, shared learning, and the exchange of best practices related to digital tools and data systems.
  • Develops and distributes digital communications regarding technology initiatives, system updates, available technology resources, and training opportunities.
  • Represents the department or agency at technology conferences, workshops, seminars, and other professional development events and activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EITHER:
  • 1. Possession of a Bachelor's Degree, or higher, in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field; OR
  • 2. Possession of an Associate's Degree in Computer Technology, Information Technology, or a closely related field and two (2) years of full-time paid experience or its part-time equivalent, in systems analysis computer support, technology training, information systems, or closely related field; OR
  • 3. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and four (4) years of full-time paid experience, or its part-time equivalent, in systems analysis, computer support, technology training, information systems, or closely related field; OR
  • 4. An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (1), (2), and (3).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of computer systems, hardware, software applications, cloud-based technologies, digital workplace tools, and related technology resources.
  • Knowledge of office terminology and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of instructional methods and techniques used in technology training.
  • Ability to train others in the use of computer hardware, software, cloud-based technologies, digital workplace tools, and related technology resources.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to users with varying levels of technological experience.
  • Ability to evaluate software applications and technology resources.
  • Ability to develop user documentation, procedures, and instructional materials.
  • Ability to create flowcharts, schedules, and tables related to data processing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to follow complex written and oral instructions.
  • Analytical ability and sound judgment.
  • Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
