Empire State Development is seeking an Information Technology Trainer to design and deliver hands-on training across software, IS, and hardware used in the organization. You will create materials, schedule workshops, and deliver sessions in person or virtually to support user skill development.
The role requires 3–5 years of IT training experience, strong communication, and the ability to work with diverse users while aligning content with IT policies and organizational goals.

ESD’s Information Technology Trainer is responsible for delivering engaging, hands-on training for various software applications, Information Systems and hardware resources utilized within the organization. This includes Microsoft (MS) Operating Systems, MS O365, Omnissa Horizon VDI, MS Dynamics, MS SharePoint, Zoom, Google Workspace, Google Gemini, ChatGPT, Keeper, Monday.com, Smart Draw, as well as many other applications or equipment used within ESD. The IT trainer is responsible for creating, scheduling, and delivering group workshops, webinars, and one-on-one sessions, both virtually and in person, to support user engagement and skill development for ESD resources.
Education level required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an IT related field; Or a 2-year degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience; Or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Background in instructional design (via credentials or experience).
Relevant experience required: 3-5 years’ experience. Ability to work with a diverse group of people at both a functional and technical level and communicate at a level appropriate to audience; experience working independently and as part of a team. Proven success delivering short-term, workplace-based IT training. Experience teaching adult learners with diverse technical skills.
Knowledge Preferred: Excellent written and verbal communication, and expertise with Microsoft O365 applications. Certifications preferred. Customer-service orientation with strong interpersonal skills.
