Job summary

The State of New York - Empire State Development, NYS is seeking an Information Technology Trainer to design and deliver hands‑on training for software, systems, and hardware used within ESD. The role emphasizes creating materials, scheduling sessions, and delivering both in‑person and virtual training to empower users.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in IT training, strong communication, and proficiency with MS O365, SharePoint, and other enterprise tools.

Qualifications

• Education and experience as specified in the posting.
• 3–5 years IT training delivery experience.
• Ability to train diverse audiences and translate technical concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver IT training programs for diverse audiences.
• Develop and maintain up-to-date manuals, tutorials and FAQs.
• Set up training environments with required software and hardware.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical users.
• Collaborate with IT staff and subject matter experts to refine content.
• Align training with policies, goals and industry trends.
• Serve as liaison among end users, leadership and IT teams.
• Gather user feedback and act on it as needed.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and adapt approaches.
• Troubleshoot user issues and support incidents.
• Support Disaster Recovery efforts and documentation.
• Position may require onsite presence with possible hybrid work per policy.
