Job summary

Empire State Development seeks an Information Technology Trainer to design and deliver hands-on training for software applications, operating systems, and hardware used within the organization. You will create instructional materials and run group workshops, webinars, and one-on-one sessions, both virtually and in person.

Qualifications

• Education as stated: Bachelor's or 2-year degree with experience and instructional design background.
• Experience delivering IT training to diverse audiences and adult learners.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to explain tech concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver IT training programs for diverse audiences.
• Develop and maintain up-to-date instructional materials (manuals, tutorials, FAQs).
• Set up training environments, including necessary equipment and software.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical users.
• Collaborate with IT staff and subject matter experts to validate content.
• Align training with organizational goals, compliance requirements, and industry trends.
• Serve as liaison among end users, leadership, and IT teams.
• Represent the voice of the user by collecting and communicating user feedback.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and adjust approaches as needed.
• Identify and assist in troubleshooting user-defined problems.
• Ensure the work is completed within the guidelines set by IT policies.
• Assist with ESD Disaster Recovery efforts, testing and documentation.
• Perform other related duties and projects as directed by IT Management.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an IT related field

2-year degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience
