Job summary

Empire State Development is seeking an Information Technology Trainer to design and deliver hands-on training across software, IS, and hardware used in the organization. You will create materials, schedule workshops, and deliver sessions in person or virtually to support user skill development.

The role requires 3–5 years of IT training experience, strong communication, and the ability to work with diverse users while aligning content with IT policies and organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 2‑year degree with 5+ years’ IT/training experience.
• 3–5 years’ IT training experience delivering to diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to teach adult learners and adapt content.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver IT training programs for diverse audiences.
• Develop and maintain up‑to‑date training materials and FAQs.
• Set up training environments and necessary equipment.
• Explain technical concepts clearly to varied users.
• Collaborate with IT staff to validate and refine content.
• Align training with organizational goals and compliance.
• Gather user feedback and measure training effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot user issues and assist with DR testing.
• Work onsite and/or remote per NYS/ESD guidelines.
