Job summary

City of Gainesville seeks an IT Technician level III to coordinate workstation support, troubleshoot and repair desktop PCs, install software, and provide first-line end-user assistance. The role also maintains IT request processes, prepares documentation, and supports disaster recovery initiatives.

The ideal candidate has an associates degree in computer science and 2+ years in related IT support, with Microsoft software experience and relevant certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in computer science preferred.
• Two years of related experience, with at least one year experience supporting Microsoft software and networks preferred.
• Microsoft certifications and/or related formal training preferred.
• Valid Class C driver’s license and satisfactory MVR.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate workstation support, troubleshooting and repair.
• Install, maintain and upgrade desktop PCs, software, and Microsoft products.
• Provide first contact technical support and end-user assistance.
• Maintain IT Request Database and generate reports.
• Assist in disaster recovery procedures.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and procedures.
• Manage new hire setups, email and user accounts.
