Job summary

Centurion Health in Gainesville, FL is seeking a full-time Regional Desktop Technician to join our IT team. This role provides on-site technical support to state correctional facilities for hardware, software, printers, networking, and related equipment.

You will triage Tier 2 requests, assist with Tier 3 escalation, test fixes, document all end-user information, and maintain the knowledge base. 1–2 years of hands-on hardware and network support is preferred, with Remote Desktop and Windows

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• 1–2 years hands-on hardware experience preferred.
• 1–2 years hands-on network support including cabling, switch, and firewall troubleshooting and installation.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft MCP preferred but not required.
• Basic understanding of networking principles and Active Directory.
• Knowledge of printers, PC architecture, and Windows operating systems.
• Experience with Remote Desktop Management and PC troubleshooting.
• Experience with current Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook).
• Familiarity with diagnostic utilities (ping, traceroute, IPConfig) and system event logs.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with customer-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support to state correctional facilities for hardware, software, printers, networking, and related equipment.
• Triage and resolve Tier 2 requests and assist with Tier 3 escalation.
• Test fixes to ensure issues are resolved and conduct post-resolution follow-ups.
• Document end-user information and call resolutions; maintain knowledge base and SOPs.
• Configure, maintain, test, and document Help Desk applications and procedures.
• Collaborate with Help Desk staff to solve complex problems.
• Answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming requests for assistance.
• Maintain system documentation and status reporting; use ticketing system effectively.
• Provide end-user training on supported Microsoft technologies or contract-specific applications.
• Follow SOPs and create/update procedural documentation.
• Review new technologies and advise on their use within IT environment.
• Possible weekend/holiday work; other duties as assigned.
