Job summary

Regnology is seeking a German-speaking Technical Writer to own and maintain German‑language documentation for banking and regulatory reporting products. You will review content from product teams and ensure language quality, domain accuracy, and consistency with how functionality works in the software.

Over time you may contribute to a strategic shift towards documentation as code using Markdown and XML‑based formats, collaborating with product managers, BAs and developers to make complex topics

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Technical Writer or in regulatory/documentation roles.
• Experience in regulatory reporting or banking domains with strong writing skills.
• Native-level German (C1) with excellent writing and nuance.
• Strong English for collaboration and content review.
• Experience with technical documentation across complex topics.

Job description

We are looking for a German‑speaking Technical Writer / Documentation Specialist to work on complex, domain‑specific documentation for our banking and regulatory reporting products.

You will:

• Own and maintain German‑language product documentation for selected products.
• Review and refine content authored by Product Managers, Business Analysts and Developers.
• Ensure language quality, domain accuracy and consistency with how functionality actually works in the software.
• Help make complex topics clear, structured and digestible for our clients.

Over time, you may also contribute to our strategic shift towards “documentation as code” (e.g. Markdown, XML‑based formats), enabling better reuse, automation and AI enablement.

Key Responsibilities

Authoring & Editing

• Write, edit and maintain technical documentation in German (and sometimes English) for banking and regulatory reporting products.
• Transform drafts from product teams into clear, consistent, client‑ready documents.
• Ensure terminology and domain‑specific language are correct and used consistently.

Quality & Consistency

• Validate that documentation accurately reflects the current behaviour of the software.
• Align content with internal standards, style guides and regulatory requirements where applicable.
• Work closely with Product Managers, BAs and Developers to clarify functionality and edge cases.

Handling Complex Technical Content

• Understand and describe complex financial/regulatory concepts in an accessible way for end users.
• Structure information logically so users can quickly find and understand what they need.
• Contribute to the move from scattered Word/PDF/Confluence content towards structured documentation as code (e.g. Markdown, XML‑based formats like DITA, AsciiDoc, etc.).
• Work with documentation tooling and repositories that treat docs similarly to source code (version control, review workflows, etc.).
• Collaborate with existing documentation specialists and product teams.
• Participate in handovers and shadowing with current team members to build product and domain knowledge.

• 2 years+ experience as a Technical Writer / Technical Documentation Specialist. or Translator / Interpreter with strong experience in technical or domain‑heavy topics (e.g. pharma, manufacturing, financial services, IT) who has already worked closely with technical documentation or Business Analyst or similar in regulatory reporting / banking with very strong writing skills and documentation responsibilities.
• C1 Native‑level German (ideally native speaker) with excellent written skills and nuance;
• Very strong English (ideally near‑native) for collaboration and occasional content;
• Proven experience with complex technical documentation (not just lightweight or generic content).
• Independent worker, able to work in an international environment
• Very good communication skills
