Job summary

Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL is seeking an IT Systems and Support Specialist. The role focuses on day-to-day server and systems administration, as well as providing hands-on help desk support for desktops, devices, and network access.

You will manage Active Directory and Intune, maintain security and backups, and contribute to compliance efforts with HIPAA/HITECH. The position includes collaboration with Central IT and clinical partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in IT.
• 2+ years of related experience in IT systems administration or support.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day administration and operational support for servers, systems, and applications.
• Configure, deploy, and maintain servers, virtual machines, and network storage; ensure backup and data security.
• Manage Active Directory and Intune: user/group management, device provisioning, and policy updates.
• Conduct system audits and assist with HIPAA/HITECH compliance efforts.
• Provide first and second tier technical support for desktops, mobile devices, AV systems, and network access.
• Create end-user documentation and mentor Help Desk staff and students.
