Job summary

LA School Employees' Retirement System seeks an IT Supervisor to oversee technical operations, manage a two-person IT team, and lead initiatives across development, training, and security. You will work closely with the IT Director to design and maintain systems, ensure continuity, and implement upgrades.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years in IT or equivalent education/experience mix, strong communication skills, and a track record of project coordination and staff development.

Qualifications

• Six years of information technology experience (or equivalent substitutions) as listed.
• Progressive IT leadership responsibilities preferred.
• Experience with planning, organizing, and supervising IT operations.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and supervises all LSERS technical functionality including hardware/software, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Develops, implements, monitors, and maintains hardware projects; coordinates downtime with development team.
• Ensures backup and business continuity procedures; maintains documentation and security policies.
• Manages subordinate staff, prioritizes work, and participates in budgeting and procurement.
• Provides training to IT staff and conducts performance appraisals; updates position descriptions as needed.
• Plans and coordinates staff orientation, education, training, and ongoing professional development.
