Job summary

The University of Georgia School of Medicine is seeking an IT Systems Support Professional to design, implement, and support a modern, scalable technology infrastructure. You will deploy and administer server, storage, virtualization, backup, and recovery systems to meet growing research and academic data needs, focusing on performance, availability, and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience.
• Experience administering enterprise virtualization platforms and storage, backup, and AD services.
• Strong understanding of Windows and Linux server environments and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support scalable infrastructure for research and academic data needs.
• Manage storage provisioning, virtualization, and data protection across NAS/SAN and software-defined storage.
• Oversee server deployment, patching, monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Support authentication, identity, and access management including SSO, MFA, and LDAP.
• Collaborate with faculty, researchers, IT leadership, and vendors to align solutions with institutional goals.
