Job summary

The University of Georgia School of Medicine is seeking an IT Systems Support Professional to design, implement, and support a scalable technology infrastructure that supports the school’s research and academic data needs.

This role focuses on deploying and administering servers, storage, virtualization, backup, and recovery systems, collaborating with faculty, researchers, IT leadership, central IT (EITS), and vendors to ensure secure, high-performance solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience.
• Experience administering enterprise virtualization platforms and associated compute, storage, and networking infrastructure.
• Experience with enterprise storage systems (NAS/SAN) and backup/recovery solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support a modern, scalable technology infrastructure.
• Deploy and administer server, storage, virtualization, backup, and recovery systems.
• Collaborate with faculty, researchers, IT leadership, central IT, and vendors to align solutions with objectives.
• Ensure data security, performance, availability, and reliability for research operations.
• Support the School of Medicine's infrastructure growth and resilience.
