Job summary

The University of Georgia in Athens is seeking an IT Support Manager to lead the OR IT support team and deliver robust IT services for Office of Research users. Responsibilities include End User Support, Device Inventory Management, cross-unit Communications, and supervising training, documentation, schedules, and annual reviews.

A Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with at least 2 years of professional experience is required; relevant certifications are preferred, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent with 2 years of professional experience.
• Experience supporting Office of Research IT users and managing device inventory and networking.
• Certifications: CompTIA A+, MS-900, MD-102 Endpoint Administrator, Security+, Apple Device Support.

Responsibilities

• End User Support: address needs via OR IT ticketing system with long-term resolutions and SOP documentation.
• Device Inventory Management: track status/location/warranty and advise replacements during refresh cycles.
• Communications with Other UGA IT Units: stay informed on major IT projects and lessons learned.
• Manage Team Support Assignments and Special Projects: ensure tickets are completed and documented; use best practices.
• Manage Team Training and Documentation: ensure knowledge and SOPs are documented and followed.
• Manage Team Schedules, Leave Approvals, Disciplinary Actions, and Annual Reviews: approve leaves and time sheets; coordinate with OR HR.
