Job summary

Grant County is seeking an IT support professional to assist in daily operation and maintenance of County IT equipment and infrastructure. You will provide staff support for computer applications and help desk activities, ensuring backups, security, and proper configuration of devices.

The role requires familiarity with Windows Server environments, AD maintenance, VPNs, firewalls, and network hardware, plus a commitment to ongoing training and flexible hours as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent recognized certificate.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience with PC’s, network & server management required.
• Experience with network components, including managed wireless access points, software-based VPNs, firewalls, managed network switches, network attached storage, backup environments and other devices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite(s) or their equivalent such as Google Workspace and a basic understanding of the operation on different software packages.
• Proficiency in Active Directory Management/Maintenance.
• Experience with Windows Server software & hardware administration, configuration and maintenance.
• Valid New Mexico State Driver’s License. Must have a good driving record to be insurable for liability purposes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in administering and providing support to County IT systems and functions under direction.
• Perform or assist with daily operations of PCs and peripheral equipment.
• Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on County computer networks and devices (desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, etc).
• Assist in recommending changes in programs, routines, and IT systems.
• Assist in ordering IT supplies and scheduling equipment maintenance.
• Maintain and administer County IT policies including disaster recovery and retention policies.
• Provide information and training to County employees on IT operations where feasible.
• Attend training and conferences to update information and skills.
