Job summary

Sagepoint Energy is seeking an IT Systems Specialist in Wisconsin to serve as the primary IT help desk contact, onboarding/offboarding, and to design and maintain secure network infrastructure across production facilities, pipelines, cloud environments, and corporate locations under the Sr. IT Systems Specialist.

The role covers Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and MDM (Miradore), as well as VLANs, VPNs, OT/IT segmentation, and incident response, with travel to sites and after-hours support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) is required.
• 3+ years required (5+ years preferred) of professional experience as a Network Engineer or similar role, preferably within the energy, utilities, or industrial sector.
• Experience with routing, switching, VLAN design/configuration/troubleshooting, VPNs, and wireless network design/configuration/deployment required.
• Familiarity with SCADA networking, OT/IT segmentation, and ICS cybersecurity best practices preferred.
• Knowledge of cloud networking (Azure/Meraki) required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to facility locations, and to provide after-hours/on-call support, as needed is required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary IT help desk contact for employees via phone, email, and ticketing system, handling Level 1-2 issues and escalating Level 3-4 as needed.
• Configure, deploy, and support VLANs, LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless solutions across company networks.
• Collaborate with plant operations for resilient and secure networking for facility systems (SCADA, DCS, PLCs).
• Support OT/IT integration and segmentation; monitor and troubleshoot network performance and security.
• Perform backups, patching, firmware upgrades, documentation updates, and preventive maintenance of IT/OT systems.
