Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator I to ensure OT systems are reliable, secure, and compliant across renewable energy operations. The role offers high autonomy, leads incident resolution, and guides admins while not managing people directly.

The successful candidate will design and deploy on‑prem OT environments, support SCADA networks, and contribute to cloud-readiness with Azure/AWS. Travel to field sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in IT/CS/Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years IT experience and 5 years OT experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server and Linux administration.
• Foundational knowledge of Azure and AWS for future cloud adoption.
• Ability to design secure, compliant on‑premises infrastructure with NERC CIP controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex OT system administration issues with sustainable solutions.
• Design, deploy, and manage OT environments supporting SCADA and control networks.
• Act as Tier 3 escalation for Windows, Linux, virtualization, and on‑prem infrastructure.
• Lead high availability, backups, disaster recovery, and failover readiness.
• Own configuration management and system documentation across environments.
• Apply security baselines and remediate vulnerabilities with cybersecurity partners.
• Migrate OSs, upgrade hypervisors, and plan for future cloud capability.
• Collaborate with SCADA, cybersecurity, and field teams to ensure interoperability.
